The Ice-Catcher is mounted on the Tuning-File handle. After the edge has been sharpened, it takes only one pass with the Ice-Catcher under the binding area to ensure a longer- lasting and even sharper edge. The pressure applied by the Ice-Catcher creates a cold worked (hardened) flat on the side edge and a small tip underneath.
